You can't tame me!

Another lovely Friday that we made it too and I'm ready for the weekend. My only plans are to clean house, switch my weardrobe around, finish my project and play with my new camera. It may not sound exciting but thats ok with me. Besides, its supposed to rain all weekend!! So indoor activities it is.

So the AC/DC challenge that i'm doing today is dress like your favorite star. Its basically the same thing that I did last Friday. I'm running out of creativity folks. I need some new inspiration because quite frankly my closet is just boring me to tears!!

What are your weekend plans?

Do it yourself!

So this morning I wanted to try something new and take my weardrobe picture outside. Unfortunately I don't know how to pose well or know how to find my light so I wasn't very happy with the way the pictures turned out. Thats why there is only 1. So when we got home I made my husband take some new ones.

Oh and guess what?! Today my husband bought me a digital camera, the memory card, a case for the camera, AND a tripod!! The camera has 14 megapixels and is also a video camera!! I love love love it! I can't wait to post some great pictures with it and even maybe do some video shots!! I will let you know when its up and operational. Of course, you will probably notice it in the picture clarity anyway.

Time to go eat dinner...

How Unfair!!

How come lately it seems like the days that I work its beautiful and sunny out and then on the weekends its rainy and drab?! Its not fair!! Now, excuse me while I throw a fit on the floor like a child!!

I wore this dress today as part of the challenge for the AC/DC flickr group. Wear a fun maxi and make it summery. Well since it was really cold this morning this is as summery as I could get so I threw on my wrap and tied it up. I think it turned out alright even though I was ready to wear this dress a different way. Damn weather!!

I never thought I would wear clogs but I guess never say never. I've worn these once already but since they seem to match my carpeting at home its hard to actually see them, especially in these pictures. These shoes are actually very comfortable and I can see myself getting a lot of wear out of them and they only cost me $11. I wasn't really even looking for these when I came across them on sale at Wal-Mart.

Today's outfit was just so simple and easy to put together. I love when that happens. I forgot to look at the AC/DC challenge looks before I picked out my outfit last night so I just picked out this. I love when life is simple!!

Nothing like feelin' new again!!

Here it is, another Monday and back to work we go. I had a wonderful weekend, even though I didn't get all the cleaning that I wanted done. Saturday was jammed pack full of events. In the a.m. me and my friend went to the Earth Day Fair here in Michigan, and even though it rained some the sun came out for a little bit while we were there and it was actually rather fun. After I got home my husband surprised me by making the appointment and paying for me to get my haircut. Apparently he was sick of hearing me whine about my hair, and lets face it...I was sick of dropping hints. After the haircut we went and worked out and then went to the grocery store. It was a LOT of running around! Sunday was a little more low key and I did some laundry and some cooking. We also ran some more errands but after Saturday I was too tired to do what I was aiming to do this weekend.

I have included not only today's outfit but at the very bottom is the oufit I wore to the fair. I was even too tired to get on the internet this weekend. Its rare but sometimes it just happens. As you can tell my hair is different (I re-dyed it myself). I love it because it feels fresh and new again!! And all the lovely layers give my thin limp hair some bounce.

So how was your weekend? And don't forget to keep voting for my shoe at Vince Camuto's website. Thanks!

Casual Chic!

No I did not turn into Sarah Jessica Parker, she is my inspiration for todays outfit. One of the challenges for the AC/DC Group on Flickr is to dress like your favorite star. In most of the street style pictues that I see of Sarah Jessica Parker she is usually in jeans, boots or heels, sometimes a scarf, and always jeans. There is very much a mid-western influence to the way that she dresses and I love it. Lately i've been into rolling up all of my pants so I decided I could do it again today. The only thing I regret now is that I should have worn some flats instead of heels today. Oh well...C'est La Vie!!

Does anyone have any good weekend plans? Tomorrow I'm going to the Earth Day Fair here in Michigan with my friend then tomorrow night its the gym and the grocery store with the hubs. Sunday will be cleaning up and finishing my wall art. What about you? Have a great Friday everyone.

Happy Earth Day & Random Thought Thursday!

Happy Earth Day everyone!! Don't just be kind to the Earth today, but every day! So today's random thought is...What do you do to help the Earth and to help keep our planet safe and clean for the next generation? At my house some of the things that we do are: recycle, re-use items, use cloth napkins (NO paper towel in my house at all), we use 100% recycled toilet paper, and green cleaning products and laundry detergents. I also try to use green make-up and hair products. So what about you?

On to today's outfit. So i've been seeing some really cute ladies in the blog world wearing socks with open-toed shoes. I'm no stranger to this but I thought today I would try knee socks with open-toed shoes and a short skirt. And what doesn't go better than blue, pink, lepoard shoes, and a argyle sweater?!? Nothing I tell you. I feel very much like Debra Messing in the movie The Wedding Date where she dresses in a golf theme for her sister's bacherlotte party! If you haven't seen the movie, you need to rent it and watch it!!

Wednesday Inspiration: Recycled Projects

So what exactly is this mess on my table you ask?? Well its gonna be my new wall art for my foyer. In case you didn't know this month is Earth month and tomorrow is officially Earth Day. Although I always try to do my best to help out the planet by recycling, thrifting, conserving energy & water, I know I can always do more. I try to re-use items instead of throwing them away. For example, at christmas time I didn't buy boxes to wrap presents in, i re-used the ones I had for recycling. You can ask my family and friends...they will tell you its true. I think my dad opened his present from a cereal box, lol.

That being said, my friend showed me this link the other day with a really cool wall art piece. Its made out of.....toilet paper and paper towel rolls! I thought it was neat and decided to start doing my own since I have a huge 2-story entryway. So the stuff on the table is the start of mine. I will show you a finished product when its done but for now I wanted to show you the inspiration. Homemade Mamas is where I first say this idea. The first 2 pictures down below are from their finished product. They also have a tutorial on their blog and lots of other great crafty ideas. The second blog Growing Up Creative is where the idea originated and the very bottom 2 pictures are from that finished product.

So this my folks is this weeks inspiration!! I hope you are inspired to get crafty and possibly start thinking of ways to reduce, reuse, & recycle. Happy Earth Day (tomorrow)!!

I'll give you all the support you need!!

Man oh Man I'm exhausted and its only 7:15 am. My husband is doing some training for 2 weeks to get his CDL (chauffers drivers liscense) and his training starts at 8 am. Now that wouldn't be so bad if we had 2 cars...but we don't! So I have to get up early with him so I can get to work. Also, his training is about an hour away so today I ended up at work at 6:45..YUUUCCCKKK!! So after really long days at work these past couple days I'm tired. Now i'm also sore from working out last night, during which I think I pulled something. Basically I would rather be home in my bed resting. Alas, that is not how it happens. I am supporting my husband and not complaining...well except maybe to you, so don't tell!! I'm still a good wife right?!

This outfit came about out of the theme "Simple and Easy". I also said I couldn't change my mind last minute because I was giving myself only a half hour to get ready and take pictures today. I did it too! But just in case these pants didn't work I had a back up option ready. I think I did good! GO ME!!

***Also don't forget to vote for my shoes today at Vince Camuto. They are on page 6 now and I need all the help I can get to get more votes!! Thanks in advance!

Working it out!

Mind you, i've only worked out a couple of times in the past 2 weeks but I feel a difference. I'm definetly not where I wanna be but I'm on my way. I've changed my diet too and have been drinking lots of water. Here are just some of the benefits i've seems for one that the water has been helping keep my headaches at bay, which is FANTASTIC! I either have shorter headaches or they definetly aren't as painful. So I'll keep drinking the water like a fish. Also I've noticed that I've lost some weight near the groin area. Yes, I just said groin. I feel like its the weirdest place to lose weight but like my husband said, you've gotta start somewhere. So that helps with some of my clothes fitting better and not having fat bulges hanging over the side or buttons pinching my stomach. I think the water helps with the non-bloated feeling as well. So needless to say, even though I hate working out and its not my favorite thing to do, its growing on me. I'm excited to go to the gym sometimes because it means i get more in shape, gain more muscle mass, lose some weight, and even feel better about myself (even if it is all in my head!).
Does working out make you feel better?

The outfit today I tried to keep simple and professional because we have some visitors coming in the office today. So it may seem boring to me but it works for the day and i'm comfortable in it.

See what had happened was...

Here's the deal folks, 1. It was ealier than normal and 2. It wasn't that bright outside yet. To what am I referring you ask? The state of these pictures. We had to leave the house by 7 am today so one I had to pose fast (which I don't do well) and second it was early. So i'm showing you all the pictures even though only 1 really turned out well.

This weekend during date night we had some time to go into Wal-Mart. I don't shop there often but it was really the only good place to shop for a couple minutes (by a couple I mean 45...and I can do damage in 45 minutes). Anyways I found these clogs for $11!! I wasn't sure about them at first but I thought there had to be a way I could rock them! So I thought I would try it out today. The actually look cute with a short skirt or maybe some shorts when it gets warm enough. Oh and I got 2 pairs of shorts and a pair of pants, each for $3. I also got some snacks for the movie we were going to see, so my total came out to $25. Not bad I say, Not bad!!

Oh and in case you were wondering we went and saw Date Night on date night. Ironic, huh? Not really. It was actually pretty funny!! Of course, you have to like that kind of sarcastic humor..which I do! The cast did a great job!! was your weekend?

Its Friday, Its Friday, Its Friday!!

Man on man am I glad that its Friday. This has been one long week. Yes, I know my work day isn't over yet but don't be cruel!! I'm so ready for the weekend, especially after my morning.

It all started while putting my jeans on...THEY DIDN'T FIT!! Couldn't even button them. Now let me say this, I have been watching what I eat and excersising and I promise you I haven't gained a ton of weight. So why oh why do my jeans not fit? And since i'm trying to save money its not like I can really go out and buy new ones. So as a quick solution to my (hopefully) temporary problem I decided to wear my husband's jeans! He hates it but..too bad! I also didn't feel like boring you with my jeggings again!! I've worn these jeans before and when I put them on with my outfit my first thought is they suck, but then I end up liking the way the outfit looks. This one is the same way.

So does anyone have any exciting weekend plans? I wish I did...

Just another case of the Wednesday blahs!!

Ok, let me explain. It's not my fault! I have no idea why I look crazy in the first picture or why everything above my waist looks crazy. My hair was not cooperating today and I still feel icky from this cough thing. Oh and if you didn't know tax day is tomorrow and its making me crazy busy at work. So all in all this week is kind of just...BLAH! I will do better tomorrow I promise!

Yesterday, a co-worker of mine mentioned that this week we should be allowed to wear pajamas to work since its so crazy. Well little does she know, that I am doing just that today!! I found this pajama shirt on clearance at Target and decided that I could definetly do something with it. It does amaze me though that I've had this for some weeks now and I haven't worn it until now. I promise you, that never happens!

Bunches of grapes!

Good morning everyone!! I hope you are all having a lovely day so far. Here today its rainy and dark and I once again have a headache. I'm staying positive though that things will turn around soon.

As you all know, i've started working out recently. Just after my first trip to the gym, i started getting this cough and when I would laugh I would wheeze a little. Oh and if you are wondering, no I don't smoke, never have!! My husband said its because my lungs are getting bigger and expanding a bit. Well its been a week now and I still have this cough. The thing is, I don't have any other virus type of symptoms (i.e. running nose, congestion, ears plugged up). So last night I happened to be talking to my cousin on the phone and she said I sounded sick, so I told her what happened. She said it sounds like exercise-induced asthma. She said when she first started working out the same thing happened to her. She said her lungs would be on fire while working out, she would turn all red in the face, and she would have a hard time breathing. Well I guess her and my other cousin have the same thing. She said she now has an inhaler and does 2 pumps of her inhaler before going into the gym. She doesn't have asthma otherwise. So last night I googled it, and its real! I definetly do have a lot of the symptoms so I'm thinking I might need to make a doctors appointment. Have any of you experienced this?

Fashionably Yours!!

The outfit today was just a simple pull from my closet. Nothing special...sorry :(
