Wednesday Inspiration: Chictopia

This week's inspiration comes from some of the gorgeous girls on Chictopia (Badley, Playing with Fire, & Golestaneh). The picture above is my source of inspiration for today's outfit. Usually when I get stuck on what to wear or I need fresh ideas i start looking at blogs, or sites like chictopia or weardrobe. After looking at these sites I usually have my inspiration juices flowing again. So here are just some of my favorite pictures from today! Enjoy!

Fahionably Yours

Next time baby, i'll be bulletproof!!

I can not wait for my 3 day weekend! I need to do something to get my creative juices flowing, because song lyrics for blog titles just aren't cutting it!!

I found inspiration for this outfit from a post on chictopia. When i went back today to find the picture I couldn't find it. I know I have it saved on my computer at home but I don't have it here. So you will just have to trust me when i say that it was a great outfit!! Today the weather is supposed to be in the high 60's and sunny and I can't wait!! I will definetly be taking a walk after work today!! Let's here it for spring!!

Its turning out to be a blue week!!

I have no idea what my fascination is with the color blue this week. Its seems to be a blue themed week, and I don't know why. Perhaps tomorrow I will be wearing something that doesn't have blue in it. We'll see...

No big story behind this outfit today, just haven't worn this dress in a while and wanted to wear it. The jacket is the same thing. I'm kind of digging the crop jacket and the tunic look but of course i didn't realize it was still a little cold until I walked out of the house this morning. Hopefully I won't freeze my butt off today.

Hey soul sister!

Let me first start by saying hello to all my new followers!! Welcome to my world, no golden tickets needed here!! Ok, so about the blog title! I heard the song Soul Sister by Train this morning on my way to work. At first I didn't care for the song but its starting to grow on me. "hey soul sister..hmm hmm (I don't know the rest of the words..ha ha)"

Todays outfit is unfortunately not part of a challenge but instead it was my way of wearing some bright colors and mixing some patterns. Last night I said to myself I wanted something easy and simple today, and thats what I got!

So how was everyone's weekend?

Fashionably Yours!
(oh and if you couldn't tell by any of my previous posts, i'm a little A.D.D. Hence the reason my conversations don't converge very well! I apologize for that, but not for the A.D.D. Thanks for understanding. *smooches*)

Bo Jove I think I've got it!!

Well guys i've seem to have gotten my mojo back, probably because its Friday!! Go figure!

I'm part of a weardrobe challenge group on flickr. So today I decided to do the challenge to wear lots of color. This isn't really a stretch for me since I usually wear a lot of color almost every day. Today I decided to wear this skirt that I hardly ever wear but can never seem to get rid of. At first I was gonna wear it as a skirt then at the last minute I decided I had to wear it as a tunic. Throw on some jeggings and vest, and you've got a great outfit with a bit of flair! Its definetly a great way to re-purpose items that don't get worn that often!! It helps too to think outside the box!!

So what are your weekend plans?

Random Thought Thursday!

So here is my random thought for today. Please feel free to comment!

I'm told frequently by people at work that I should take pictures of my outfits everyday. This week alone its been mentioned 3 different times (twice by the same person). Everytime I've said that I do and the I put it on a blog. I do keep track because I want to see how many times I can remix my outfits. But I'm wondering, do any of you get this question? I'm wondering if maybe its just me!!

Let me know,
Fashionably Yours!

Just when you think you will never smile again, life comes back!!

So this week has been a little weird for me. For some reason i'm feeling a lil self-conscious about myself and my weardrobe. So sorry about yesterday's foul mood. Its weird because even when I hate my outfit or don't like the way things turned out, other people find inspiration in it or love it. It definitely makes me realize that I'm super hard on myself when I shouldn't be. It also makes me realize how much I'm glad that I'm part of a blog community of such caring wonderful people. I will never regret the day I built my blog or even joined flickr. Thanks so much guys for all of your love and support!! You all mean the world to me, even if you are miles away!

On the outfit note, I joined a cool flickr group started by Beck and I'm trying to see if I can do a lot of the challenges. I'm thinking that by doing the challenges I can get out of these outfit funks and start to love my weardrobe again. Today I'm doing rock an offbeat accessory. So i'm rocking my headband and my zipper boots!! Well off to enjoy the sound of the rain hitting the window..

I wish I wish I wish..

What I wish I was wearing (minus the crop top of course!)- above. What i'm actually wearing - below!!

Sorry guys, i'm not thrilled with this outfit picture or necessarily the outfit itself. I was running late this morning fiddling with my hair too much and couldn't really get this outfit or the poses to look the way I wanted them to.

Tonight is pizza and movie night with the hubs and I can't wait! Maybe after that and indulging in some more cookies and milk I will feel better!! Have a good day everyone!!

Shades of gray...

First of, let me start by saying...i don't like these pictures. The outfit is alright but the pictures are worse! I definetly was not on my game this morning. Second, I spelled gray with an A instead of an E on purpose. My parents say it should be spelled gray instead of grey. I guess either one is correct but I feel better spelling it grey. I guess its just whatever you prefer.

So today's outfit took some time for me to plan out because my other outfits I tried on didn't work out so well in reality as they did in my head closet!! Yes my head is a virtual closet sometimes. It really helps when i'm shopping. So today this is what you get..

Great Gatsby & Prima Ballerina

Since my budget is not what I would like it to be, I'm not able to pick up any trendy pieces sometimes even if they are cheap. So my solution, make it!! Thats what I did with this headband, I thought I wanted to enjoy the floral trend this spring and this headband is my way of doing just that. Oh and by the way, i have a confession....I pose in the mirror! Don't laugh, i'm serious..i practice my poses in the mirror! I don't care if you think its weird because if I didn't practice I wouldn't have thought of the pose above which makes me feel like a skinny prima ballerina!! See, practice does make perfect.

My outfit today of course revolves around this headband. After making it last night I decided I had to wear it right away!! So I planned everything around a headband, yep i did!! I wasn't so sure of the outfit before I left but now seeing the pictures i'm happy with the way it turned out.

I hope everyone had a good weekend!! I know I did. I got everything on my list done and I relaxed plenty!! Its nice to have those weekends once in a while.

Oh stop...you're making me blush! :)

Well its the last day of sunshine and warmth for a couple of days, and guess what? I get to work!! Lucky me. At least once I get off of work I will be able to enjoy it for a little while. Since its gonna be yucky and cold all weekend, i plan on staying indoors and getting some stuff done and getting some of my craft stuff worked on. Anyone else got better plans than that?

This outfit started because of this ruffle tank top I got from Target a while ago. I bought the pink and the black one because they were on clearance and I figured since i loved them I would wear them all the time...WRONG!! When ever I would wear them I would feel self-conscious of my stomach. I already have a little pouch and i felt like the shirt added to it and made it worse. Since I don't really ever wear them anymore I decided to make some alterations. Now I have a crop top and a really cool ruffle infinity scarf!! Now, i can wear them freely without any questions from strangers like, "How far along are you?" Ugg....nothing I hate worse!!

Dear Spring, please stay!!

Lately we've been having some very very nice spring-like days! Apparently according to the weather though, thats gonna change again this weekend. Its supposed to be yucky and rainy all this weekend and possibly even snow on Sunday!! That just not fair, tease me then bring back the yucky snow!! Michigan is just fickle!! So since today and tomorrow its still supposed to be in the high 60's i'm determinded to enjoy every single minute of it. Sandal wearing and all..

So today's look feels a little preppy to me. I seriously sat in my closet for 10 minutes last night trying to debate what to wear today. I figured since I've worn skirts all week that I would either pants or shorts. Since I didn't really want to wear tights, these pants were my option. I also decided I had to wear this jacket since its been a while. After adding a bright colored shirt...viola!! A look thats comfortable and chic!!

Fashionable Blogger Spotlight!!

Recently I was fortunate enough to do a interview with Jentine from My Edit. I came across her blog last week and I thought she had AMAZING style and she seems very funny and sweet! When I asked if I could interview her she was really sweet and agreed to do it even if there was a lot of pressure (on my end)!! So here is the interview and please please go check out her site, I promise you won't be dissapointed!!

Q1: Lets start with the basics..Toilet paper over or under?

A: #1 threw me off, I had to go check, it's over.

Q2: Ok maybe i will dial the crazy back a little, what do you do for a living? If you don't already have your dream job, what would your dream job be?

A: I landscape for a living. In general I really love it, it may not be my dream job but I do go to work each day happy. My dream job?... I'd like to know what it is too...

Q3: I detest croc shoes with a passion, so what is one of your biggest fashion annoyances?

A: I hate white tights and big, bedazzled Guess purses. Mostly I hate it when people don't care. You don't have to be a crazy fashion addict like me but just put a little effort in. If money is the issue, there are really good thrift stores around... I'm willing to help you out for the sake of looking presentable (how generous, I know...).

Q4: What are your most desired, but can't quite afford, pair of shoes that you want?

A: I don't really have a pair in mind right now but an easy choice would be Frye motorcycle boots or brown boots. I don't think I'll ever have enough brown boots.

Q5: I know that you live in Canada, but given a good opportunity would you move to the US?

A: I would like to stay in Canada for now because I love being close to the fam damily. Travel could be fun though...

Q6: Spring is right around the corner, so what are your favorite spring things to do?

A: My favourite spring things to do are to have a drink on a patio, to make a yard look real good with a Jentine Spring Clean-up (patent pending) and to expose my knees. The only downside of spring is actually having to make a bit of effort and shave my legs occasionally. Boo....

Q7: Any voices in your head we should know about? What do they say?
A: I do have voices in my head that scold me when I buy any dresses. They usually shut up pretty quickly. If they don't, I do something extra, like clean the bathroom... Such displays of helpfulness even out my lack of self control when shopping.

Q8: What is your must have beauty product? Favorite Color nail polish?

A: I am addicted to Co Bigelow lip gloss from Bath and Body Works. In general I have been addicted to chapstick etc. for about 15 years. I tell myself that any fat is actually a lip gloss accumulation because I have eaten so much of it accidentally over the years. 1 hour on the rowing machine equals 2 tubes of lip gloss.

Q9: What kind of style did you have as a teenager? Do you regret any of your teenage fashion choices?

A: I didn't really have a lot of style as a teenager. But I thought I did... I wore black pants, a white button-up and a tie from my little brother to a highschool dance once and I thought I was bad.ass. Too bad people called me Avril Lavigne all night, not what I was going for...

Q10: Will you be my blog friend?

A: Of course. I'm running for Blog Prom Queen this spring and I need all the support I can get...

Q11: Now that you've experienced some of my zany questions, you have any for me?

A: #1. What made you start a blog?
#2. Could you go 79 days without shopping?
#3. The toilet paper question.

And here are my answers...

1. Well i've always wanted to start a website, almost like a forum, to share my ideas and thoughts and what not. I tend to find really good deals, have ingenious ideas about things, or just get really crafty. So i wanted to share that with the world. Some websites cost, especially since i'm not really really computer savy so the blog became my next best thing. I started documenting my outfits last summer on flickr and when I decided to do the blog it sort of became a fashion diary of sorts. I think i'm gonna start adding more of my features to it, like originally planned. At first I thought it was a little narcissistic (wrong spelling i'm sure), but hey..I am what I am!!

2. I told my hubs about this interview and this question and his first words were, "Nope, you couldn't not shop for 79 days, maybe 7!" I guess he may have a point. I could go without grocery shopping for 14 days, since thats how often I do it now. I also, would like to think i could go 79 days without clothes, accessories, or shoe shopping!! But who am i kidding...clearance and sales always tempt me. If thats wrong, well i'll never be right!!

3. Always over, it just makes more sense. At work the bathrooms seem like they are under and it always drive me nuts, I get like 4 little pieces at a time!! I can't take it, i may not have a big butt, but i do like it clean!!

Thanks so much Jentine for being such a great sport!! You rock and I hope one day we can do some much needed retail therapy together!!

Fashionably Yours!

Kiss me I'm Irish!!

Actually I'm not Irish and definetly don't kiss me, my husband would kill you! That is of course if I don't slap you first! If you don't know today is St. Patrick's Day, so inevitably I had to have an Irish themed blog title! I also had to wear something green in order to not get pinched, because I bruise like a peach!! By the way, why did that tradition come into play? What bully thought of that?! Not nice, not nice..

I really have nothing great to say about my outfit today except that maybe I should have worn brown shoes instead of black. It seemed better w/black before I walked out the door, but pictures don't lie.

I've got the blues over you!!

So first of, let me give my props to Becks for giving me the heads up that Target had great pajama shirts on clearance!! Friday I couldn't wait to go and scoop some up for myself. This shirt/dress being one of them!! I love it!!

Since its only going to be high 50's today I decided I had to wear some kind of socks, or in my case leg-warmers!! I also mentioned in a previous post how much I was wanting to wear these shoes again.. I've missed them. So with those things said, i bring you today's outfit!!

Oh and stayed tuned tomorrow for a special feature!!
