Bright: A skirt as a shirt? Yes, again!

Good morning everyone! Its finally Saturday, my day of rest! I hope everyone had a good week and if you didn't don't worry, just have a martini and all the worries of the past week will dissapear! Thats what I did anyway. We went to Fridays for my brother-in-law's birthday party last night and I had a wonderful time. I wore this because I just wasn't up for staying in the outfit that I wore to work. Like the title says I am wearing a skirt as a shirt. This isn't the first time that i've done this nor will it be the last. Well i'm keeping this post short and sweet today because I'm off to do a whole bunch of NOTHING! Yeah for me. Have a great weekend everyone!!

Bold - The self-made boho headband

Its Friday! Yipppppeeeeee! I'm so glad this week is coming to a close, its been a long week. Now i'm counting down to my staycation Feb 12! I can't wait!

So I decided to try the rolled up jeans with ankle boots look today. I don't have oxfords yet so I can't wear those (soon though..). Since its still plenty cold here in Michigan this week I had to wear some thick socks with my shoes. The outfit also revolved around my newly made headband, very boho if you ask me! I'm thinking I'm gonna get some pretty strange looks at work today but i don't care! So what is everyone's weekend plans? I've got a birthday party tonight and a Pistons basketball game with the hubs on Sunday. Other than that I'm laying low and getting some rest so I can kick this cough good bye. Well i'm off now, have a great weekend everyone!

Bright - The kelly green jacket!!

I LOVED LOVED LOVED this outfit!! This green jacket I found at a thrift store a couple of years ago but it didn't fit too great so I ended up giving it to my sister. Fast foward a couple of years and I'm riffling through my sister's closet and saw the jacket again. I decided then that I was gonna take it back. It doesn't look so great buttoned on me but I didn't care! SO its been sitting in my closet unworn until now!! Another item of clothing that I decided that I had to start wearing more. So while seeking some much needed fashion inspiration I came up with the idea of this outfit!! Isn't it great?!?!

Unexpected - A dress tucked into pants?!

Yeah you read the caption right, i have a dress tucked in my pants (and on purpose!). I have worn this dress a couple of times before but I don't really care for the clingy fabric that it is made out of. I decided though that instead of just continuing to let it sit in my closet being unworn that I would have to find some new ways to wear it. This idea came to me while at work so I had to hurry up and write it down in my fashion journal. I do like how it turned out and how innovative it looks (even though I was told it was an unflattering outfit...). Later when my husband found out I had a dress tucked in my pants his response was "I should have known!" Well what can i say?!

Oh and btw this was yesterday's outfit!!

Is it Friday yet?!

So today I woke up thinking that it was Wednesday, but alas...it was only Tuesday! Apparently I'm in a rush to finish this week! I'm sure it has something to do with the fact that I've been feeling sick lately.

I decided to wear my new pink flower statement necklace with my outfit, in fact my outfit revolved around it. This outfit evolved a couple of times before I left work today and I liked that the necklace peek out under the v-neck of the shirt.

Alright now its time for me to finish this post because i'm running out of cool things to say....

Sick and tired of being sick and tired!!

So I've been trying to fight off some kind of virus or sinus infection the past week and right now its getting to the coughing, clearing my throat stage. Its really gross I know! So after my husband took these pictures I realized he didn't get my face in the shot which i'm now quite relieved about. I'm looking all puffy eyed and dead in the face so the less you see of my face right now the better off you are. So today its all about the outfit!

The tights and the bow on the belt are brown even though they look black in these pictures. I blame in on the bad picture quality. I put this outfit together and when I had it on today I wasn't too sure of it but now that I see it in the picture i'm quite happy with it. The bow is something I actually made and its detachable. I added it to the belt that came with the cardigan and I loved wearing it. Every day this week I'm going to try to wear something that I've made this past weekend in a different way so you can see the versatility of the items. I hope to have my etsy shop open soon...so cross your fingers. If you want anything just let me and we might be able to arrange something. Well guys I'm off to get some much needed rest. Have a great night!!

Would you buy any of this?!

Hopefully I will be opening my Etsy shop soon, but before I do what do you think? Would you wear any of this? The bows and flowers can be worn on shoes, belts, headbands, or necklaces. I made them in such a way that they are completely versatile and can be worn many ways. The only thing that isn't that versatile is the circle headband. Let me know what you think.

Its all about the layers!!

I'm not really supposed to be on here because I'm supposed to be doing my crafts but I had to hurry up and get my weardrobe picture up here from yesterday. This is not what I wore to work yesterday but rather what I wore to a birthday party last night. The vest was added in lieu of a jacket since my scarf sheds and I didn't want to have to clean off my coat for 4 hours. I really am loving the shorts with leggings or tights underneath, and am thinking that I need to start cutting up some more old jeans I don't wear anymore. Well all, that's it for now. I must go and get cracking on getting some work done. Hope you all have a great weekend!

Weekend Plans

Hey guys, no this is not me nor is it my outfit post for today (that will come later). I just wanted to share with you my weekend plans. Oh and the little girl is my friend's daughter wearing one of the headbands I made for her! How cute is she?!

Anyhow, this weekend I plan on making some broaches, headbands, barrettes, and such so I can open my etsy shop. So no weekend posts for me! I need to get my shop up and going so I can make some extra money. I'm excited and a little overwhelmed knowing that it will take up so much time to get it all going. I can handle it though. While I'm making things I will be watching Project Runway and old episodes of Sex and the City. So what is everyone's plans for the weekend?

P.S.
These are some of the other headbands and broaches I have made! You like?!?

The $4 outfit minus the shoes....

Hey guys....I'm bbbbaaaaccckkk! I'm feeling better today so i'm doing my weardrobe post from today. This sweater and pants are recents finds at the thrift store from this past weekend. The sweater got me a couple of compliments today and I of course was on cloud nine for that. I love this sweater, its nice and cozy. The sweater and the pants cost me $1 each and the white tank underneath was $2 on clearance at Target some weeks back. So this outfit was a pretty cheap but comfortable and chic outfit all at once! I love when that happens! Yea me!!

The Tuesday that feels like Monday!

Since I had yesterday off in honor of Martin Luther King Jr today was my Monday! It didn't start out well either as I woke with a headache that has yet to go away. Nonetheless I'm glad I had a good restful 3-day weekend and I only have a 4-day work week this week.
This sweater was a Christmas gift from my mother-in-law. Its not something I would normally pick out for myself but since I took off the tags and didn't have a receipt I couldn't return it. So in an effort to not let another thing sit in my weardrobe un-worn I decided it was time to pair it with something. I decided red and brown was the way to go today! My jewelry had an owl theme today too and I loved it! So what's the one piece you have in your closet that you need to wear still???

Say What Now?!

Does anyone ever watch tv that you aren't ready to admit to your grown up friends?! Well i'm gonna say it, I like watching True Jackson VP on the nickelodeon network. Yeah that's right I said it!! I love that she's a young vibrant girl working as a VP of a major fashion company. And because its a fashion company they have some great costumes for the show. So don't judge...please don't judge.
So this is what I wore Saturday, January 16 to go shopping. First to the grocery store then to the thrift store later in the day. You know it amazes me that people still shop at the mall. I understand going to certains places for those beloved basics but for some great one of a kind pieces why spend all that money when you can go to the thift store and get the same thing for a whole lot cheaper. Yesterday I scored 3 shirts, a pair of pants, a purse, and 4 skirts all for under $25! How awesome is that?!?! I'm very excited to wear it all for you to see! Well i'm off to get some breakfast. Hope you all enjoy the rest of your weekend!
