Let's go on a safari!

I'm feeling like i'm ready to go on a safari today. Of course I would wear more sensible shoes though. If I still had a safari jacket I would have worn that with this outfit. Summer days always call for easy chic.

Also on a little conceited side note, my legs look hot in that first picture! Yeah for my workouts!

Breathe In, Breathe Out..

Wow, today flew by fast! It probably has to do with that fact that I was at the doctors office and the pharmacy most of the morning. I was lucky enough to sleep in a little bit before the appointment so even though i was running like crazy all day i was prepared for it. I did go to work so I ended up wearing this all day. Luckily the shoes didn't kill my feet like I thought they would.

Oh and in case you are wondering, i am ok. I went to the doctor because I needed to see what was going on with my lungs and my chest when I run or workout too hard on the eliptical or treadmill. Understand that I didn't work out faithfully until recently AND i never really play sports other than the occasional softball or kickball game. So the week after we first started working out I got a cough that wouldn't quit and I was wheezing. My lungs would feel like they were on fire and lately it seemed my chest was constricted and being squeezed to death. Regardless of how fast or slow I rain it would still hurt. After stalling for 2 months I made the appointment and found out I have Exercise Induced Asthma. Basically I only have asthma symptoms during strenous times like a workout or high impact sport. I now have an inhaler that I will be trying out tomorrow. I am happy now that I can push myself harder without having to worry what is wrong. Let this be a lesson that if something doesn't seem right you should get it checked out. Its better to be safe than sorry..

Product Review: Sunless Tanner

As it is now officially summertime we are all trying to get a nice summer sun glow. As I get older though i'm becoming more aware of my body and how I should treat it. That means I've stopped laying out in the sun without sunblock and I don't go to tanning salons anymore. I know I can't undo the past but I can change my future.

That being said this year I decided to use sunless tanner. So back in May I started using Jergens natural glow tanning lotion. The firming brand does help with celluliate. Unfortunately after a couple of months of use it seemed to be working against me. At one point my husband called me skittles because of my coloring. Then lately it seemed to be coming off in patches no matter how I applied it. So I looked like I had a skin disease. Not very great. I do still use the Jergens facial tanning lotion for my face and it seems to work fine. Just be careful around the eyebrows and the edges of your face. For my body i use the Kiss my Face sunless tanner. Now it is organic which means its gonna cost a little more, $11.49 compared to Jergens $7.99. Nevertheless, I had to give it a try. I must say that it is FANTASTIC. I literally have no streaks, its stays on very well even when i'm sweating like crazy at the gym, and it dries super fast. Its definetly worth the money and I'm glad I switched. I no longer look like an oompa loompa and i've got that summer glow. I don't always do product reviews but I thought this was one worth doing. So if you want a summer glow, find what works best for you but please remember the sun's harmful UV rays!!

Grown Ups!!

Last night was date night for me and the hubs. We went out to have dinner and a movie. I got to eat at Olga's Kitchen which is one of my favorite places to eat. Then after dinner we walked around for a little bit and then went and saw the movie Grown Ups. We got back to the theatre kind of early so we sat out in the lobby and in the theatre wasting time. Since i always carry my camera now I decided to start snapping away. The above picture and the one below that is just like it was at dinner and the rest are at the theatre. I also had to get in a weardrobe outfit since it was a pretty hot outfit. Definetly couldn't leave you guys out!! Have a good rest of the weekend ya'll!!

Friday Rocker Chic

Casual Friday's at a place of employement are a chance to express your inner fashionista. Though there are some limitations you can still be a little more creative than your Monday thru Thursday self. Any chance to show my weardrobe creativity is a chance I will always appreciate. So since I haven't worn these pants in a while I busted them out and decided they would look great with a graphic tee. Once I put on the shoes and the scarf I liked the rocker look that it gave the outfit. It also kind of went with the saying on the tee: Built Ford Tough. I like to think i'm that tough! So how tough are you?

I shook the world..

So yesterday I experienced a strange phenomon, an earthquake tremor in Michigan. I've lived here most of my life and I've never experienced one. Well yesterday there was a 5.5 earthquake in Canada and it was felt up to 300 miles away. At first I thought I was going crazy but it turned out it was the earthquake! I was relieved.

Since last night was movie night I didn't post my outfit. So yesterday's outfit is below and the outfit from today is above.

Hot N' Cold

Hey guys! I'm back to feeling sane and normal again. And of course, I'm quite happy about that. I'm gonna make this quick since i'm not really feeling anything creative to write.

This outfit required a sweater because at work with the air on its freezing cold. I'm not sure why but there are just days when i'm not sure what to wear because I don't know if it will be cold or not at work. Today I figured I would take something to cover up with in case it did get cold. And it's a good thing that I did considering I wore the sweater most of the day. I was inspired by an outfit that Sarah Jessica Parker wore in SATC2. I really liked this outfit and it was perfect for a blazing hot Michigan day.

The Good, The bad, & the Ugly!!

Today is a 2 for 1 special. You get plenty of outfits to ogle at since I'm posting twice in 1 day. This outfit is technically from yesterday but since I wore it only for a couple of hours so I thought I would save myself some time and energy and just wear it to wear today as well.

I hope you didn't take my previous post to harshly but here is what it boils down to. Last night because I ran around all weekend and didn't get to rest much I almost had a nervous breakdown. I've been stressed before but this was something new for me. First off let me say that my day yesterday started with a headache that didn't really go away until late. And as i've said before I've suffered from headaches for years. Lately because of the exercise, excessive water drinking, and diet changes the headaches have improved dramatically. So for the past week when I've gotten a headache I've become more irritable about them since i've quickly become accustomed to not having them. With that being said I was already drained and crabby. So right before I went to bed I was feeling a little raw. I still had chores I needed to finish and things I wanted to still do but didn't have time for. So I basically lost it on my husband. I didn't yell at him or hurt him, so don't worry, he just became my sounding board. I complained and whined about everything and had to try and calm myself down before I ended in tears. The only thing different about this time from any other time before is that I felt my heart race and my chest start to tighten. I was too nervous and anxious to fall asleep and it scared me. So, the morale of this story is if I don't post as often as I have been don't be upset with me, I'm just trying to get accustomed to the changes in my life. I need to feel like myself again and not sme uptight, angry, emotionally raw person. I know you understand.

Ok guys it's been a crazy weekend and so I didn't get to post any weardrobe pictures from Thursday OR Friday. Things were kind of crazy this weekend between running household errands, doing chores (yes, I stll have them even if they are self-inflicted), and father's day celebration. So I just didn't get to sit down with my computer long enough to do this and when I had the chance I was just way too tired to care. At this point if I've let you down I apologize but I still don't care. As much as I would love to have a set schedule for blogging I can't. I still have a full-time job, a house to take care of, and a husband to tend to. Not only that but I have to take care of myself and that includes rest, exercise, & some good ole' pampering. I know you'll understand and if you don't then quit reading now!

Huh? Wtf? Huh??!!

I call it a momentary lapse of judgement and others call it insanity. I blame the headache that wouldn't go away though. I wear some funny and crazy stuff but I'm not sure what possesed me to wear this, out in public no less! I don't know if it's a blessing or a curse but no one at work said anything. Either they didn't notice or I've ceased to surprise them anymore. In an effort to always be honest you guys I am posting this outfit to show you what I wore. Let's just hope this lapse of judgement doesn't continue tomorrow.

Jolly Blue Giant

Some of these pictures made me feel like the jolly blue giant. This is another one of those outfits that I was feeling in the morning but as the day went on I wasn't feeling it so much. When I originally bought these they fit perfectly and now they are actually a little big, hence the belt. I think thats part of the reason why I wasn't feeling the outfit. Its a little bit of a bummer but I guess I will get over it.

Pajamas looking fly?

You never thought pajamas looked this good huh? Thats because these aren't pajamas. If they are they didn't seem like it to me. I found these pants at the thrift store and I just couldn't resist them. They are completely comfortable and are cool enough for a nice hot summer day. The floral pattern is nothing to laugh at either. I have a feeling i will be wearing these a lot!

1 Day, 2 outfits, & 1 great skirt!

Yesterday was a busy full day. Work in the a.m., gym in the afternoon, and my sister's birthday party in the p.m. So in an effort to save my self some time I planned my party outfit using a piece I wore during the day to work. This work-horse skirt. It really will be getting a lot of play time on my roster. I got it thrifting last weekend I believe for $1 and boy the use per wear will be pennies! So let me show you how you can re-think some of the pieces in your own weardrobe.

Above I wear the skirt with a fun bright logo top and some new white wedges sandals. Below for the evening look I wear it with some skinny jeans and a white tank with some boho pieces. I think its one great way to get a good use out of a great piece for all those busy summer days.

Blossom + Punk Brewster = Me!

Do you remember the tv show Blossom? How about Punky Brewster? Well yesterday I felt like my outfit was straight out of a Blossom episode. Minus the bucket hat with the flower on it. Today I'm feeling like maybe my outfit came out of Punky Brewster's weardrobe. Although, I don't know why because I've never watched Punky Brewster. A few people at work have told me though that I remind them of Punky Brewster. Ah well. I actually liked both of these outfits because they had pizzazz! Besides, who can fault me for wanting to be comfortable and stylish all at the same time.

Silk Dresses

Ok so apparently I'm in a happy mood today and its all because of shopping! I bet it makes you happy too! Well here's the story. While flipping through a magazine one day I noticed Revlon's ad for their new nail polish colors. One of the new colors is called Grey Suede and I instantly fell in love with it. It was the perfect neutral for pretty nails that type on a computer all day. So I decided next time I go to the store i was gonna look for this pretty nail color. The first store I went to didn't have it BUT when I went to Target this weekend they had 1 bottle left. I must not be the only one who liked it but I am one of the lucky ones that got this color. Long story short I painted my nails last night with this color and its made me ecstatic. I love looking down at my nails and seeing this pretty neutral on my nails!! I'm in love!

Oh and the other reason for the happiness is this amazing shirt dress. It's a silk dress from Banaba Republic that I thrifted for $1. Amazing right?! Not only was it a great dress for cheap but I've been getting compliments on it all day! I'm feeling like a pretty bird walking around fluffing her wings!!

I'm back again!!

So, if you hadn't noticed I re-dyed my hair this weekend and I feel like my good ol'redhead self again. I know you've missed me horribly this weekend and I apologize. Things got hectic Friday night so I couldn't post Friday's outfit and then Saturday I spent all day shopping with my mom. I wore her out and got blisters on my feet! That's how hard we shopped. As for Sunday, well no real good excuse except for I was sleepy and tired all day so I just rested. But i'm back, so now you can jump for joy!

I got some really great stuff at the thrift store on Saturday and even some great stuff at Target. I'm excited to wear it all for you guys. A little bit of it is not "me" per say but i'm trying to break out of my fashion rut! It will be fun to see my new outfits. This shirt is actually one of my new purchases. Isn't it fab?! Oh and I only spent $25 Saturday at the thrift store! I know you hate when I tell you that but again they were having a 5 for $5 sale on green tag items! You know how I love a good sale!!

Jars of Peanut Butter

So let me just say that I think my legs look awesome! Kinda hot if I do say so myself. It just feels good to see the results of my work out. Its not so bad that I check myself out from time to time is it?

Also, the other thing is, lately i've been craving peanut butter. I just want to eat it from the jar till its all gone. I'm starting to feel like a freak wanting to eat Peanut Butter all day!

As far as this outfit goes...I liked the way it turned out. I felt comfortable and enjoyed the look all day long.

Sometimes you just gotta take a break!

Today was a slow day. Slow in the fact that I was just not feeling the day. I just wanted to lay on my couch and be a couch potato. So since i was not feeling like doing much today we decided not to go to the gym. I needed a break and I just didn't want to get burned out.

So let me ask you this, if you do work out do you have days where you just can't do it? And if so, how do you handle it? My husband loves workng out and he didn't want me to push it today because he doesn't want me to get burned out and stop working out altogether. So how often do you work out? Let me know your thoughts...I wanna see if i'm the only who feels guilty when I don't push myself everyday to work out.
