Almost Famous

No this is not a post about the movie featuring Kate Hudson. Its about ME! Surprise surprise huh? Well I found out today that at least one of my pictures was picked for a brand new magazine, and an international one at that! A Taste of Home..

Well I'm back to work after an 11 day staycation and all I really wanna do is go back to my lovely home and curl up on the sofa. Since I can't do that and I'm slammed with work I thought I would at least share with you some pictures of my lovely home. If you have to drool go ahead, just make sure that you don't short circuit your keyboard.

The Lost Style Files

Overnight we got dumped on with more of the white fluffy stuff they call snow. Luckily my office was already closed today so I didn't have to take a snow day. This outfit is actually from a week ago but because i'm still in my pajamas I figured you would rather want to see this instead of me in my jammies with bed head. Its not a pretty sight but at least I can enjoy my couch potato day after my productive morning of cleaning. So whether you are having a snow day or not....Happy Monday!!

So part of my staycation plans were to transform my storage space once again. If you don't remember or haven't been with me that long it used to be my home office among other things. Since I've started couponing I've been accumulating grocery items and with an apartment size pantry there was no room for the overstock of items. I also might be getting a printer soon so I had to move my office by an outlet (unfortunately they weren't smart enough to put one in the storage room). So yesterday morning was spent transforming by space. The before shot is a little cleaner than it was but that's because I forgot to take pictures until halfway through. It definitely turned out pretty nice if I do say so.

AFTER

My day of rest..

As some of you may already know, I've been on vacation since Friday. Most of my weekend though has been spent running errands for myself and my family. I was also getting ready for my anniversary/Valentine's day. So today is the first day that I'm actually able to sit down and take a minute to blog and enjoy my day. Today is my movie & internet day. It's very rare for me to be able to sit down and watch movies without doing other things at the same time. So here I am.

I hope everyone's Valentines day was special and filled with lots of love. I know mine was!

Frigid Frigid Air

So today is my Friday! Tomorrow I start my 11 day staycation. Why do i have planned you ask? That I'm not completely sure of. Spending some time with a friend, maybe some thrift shopping, celebrating my anniversary with the hubs, and more than likely a girly movie day for me. The great part about the staycation is that I can do whatever my little heart desires. I will posting while I'm off but I'm not sure if they will all be outfit posts or not. You'll just have to wait and see..

Oh and if you are in one of the lucky states that gets to freeze there butt off today because of the frigid air, do your best to stay warm and wear lots and lots of layers!

Some input please

I know that sometimes my posts are a little lame and not real funny. I wish I could harness my sarcasm and make it appear when I want but it doesn't really happen that way. As any around me often enough would tell you, I am VERY sarcastic and tend to joke around a lot. For some reason though I can't seem to display that in my writing. Instead i come off as completely A.D.D. with random thoughts all scrambled together. So here is where I need your help. What do you think I should do to improve my blog? What would you like to see? Do you wanna see more of my surroundings, more of my opinions (this could be dangerous territory, just warning you), more of my family, or maybe more savings deals? Leave me some input. Its time I grow and expand (and not my hips, thank you).

Jenny from the block

Do you all remember that music video where J-Lo wears this vest with this massive hood on it? I can't think of the song name but I remember that vest for sure. And now wearing my vest with a massive hood on it I feel a little like J-Lo, or actually more like Jenny from the block. When J-Lo came out with her new name my cousin started calling me J-Lo and from then on I still sometimes get called J-Lo. Although since I've gotten married it's switched a little more to J.T. Either way, sometimes I still feel like Jenny from the block. And even if I'm not at least I will be warm, massive hood and all!

Blizzard of 2011

So I'm a little bummed today. I woke up to only about 6 or so inches of snow. They told us 10-15! So since the Road Commission did there jobs so well (Great job guys!) I had to make the trek into work. The news got us all hyped up for nothing! Since I don't have a snow day today its just another day in Paradise. Or the little place I like to call work. I just hope that most of my co-workers make it in today too. I don't wanna run this place by myself. Well happy Wednesday everyone!

And so it continues..

If you read my previous post this is what I was talking about. Friday I didn't necessarily feel like dressing very fashionably. I mostly felt like just wearing jeans and a sweatshirt. I believe that every once in a while you should just let yourself dress for your mood and comfort. Typically for me if its not comfortable I won't wear it. Regardless if it is a wedding dress or tennis shoes. I especially don't wear anything that itches or scratches (Like wool). Cotton has always been one of my closest allies. If you aren't comfortable in your clothes it will show because you'll be adjusting and fidgeting all day. So forgive me if I disappoint you but sometimes a girl just has to be true to herself.
