Trying to Balance it all.

Well I've officially started back at the gym. I forgot how much of my night it seems to suck up, even if it is only for an hour. Getting home and eating dinner at 8 doesn't appeal to me BUT if I wanna look good in all my new spring/summer clothes then I need to get some of this winter weight off of me. It's time to get lean muscles and a flat stomach again.

As previously stated in a past post I went to the thrift store over the weekend and one of my favorite finds was this lovely skirt. After seeing a skirt like this on many fellow bloggers I was excited to see it on the rack in my size with the original sale tag still on it. Lucky for me all I had to pay was $3.99. And I'm pretty sure this skirt will do me justice with many outfits.

Super Savings Sunday - Part 3

We're back again for the third installment of my super savings. My grand total spent for this week was: $33.31! Amazing! But I will say this, I used some of the grocery money to go thrifting this weekend! Sometimes a girl just has to splurge, and as you can see we aren't lacking for food to eat. Here's the breakdown:

Meijer (above):

Total: $10.32
Saved: $67.19

*I actually bought 10 bags of vegetables, not just 3!

Rite Aid & Target (Above):

Total: $4.37

Saved: $119.29

*Not shown are the 6 dixie plates I bought for my mom!*

Vg's (above):

Total: $14.46

Saved: $60.35

*Again, since I already have boxes of Wheat Thins Stix these ones went to my parents!

Happy Easter

I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter holiday and you didn't eat so much candy that you ended up in a sugar coma. Spending time with family and friends on any holiday is wonderful..and when you put candy in the mix...even better!

So how do you like my Easter outfit? This dress was courtesy of my lovely friend Beck. She won a dress and one for each of her 3 friends and she picked me as one of her friends. I, like, Beck had a hard time finding a dress at Old Navy. Dresses are always hard for me to find because of my body type. Alas, one of the last dresses I tried on worked perfectly. Cute and comfortable! I love when that happens.

Hoppyness

Happy Friday everyone! Ooops...my bad, it's only Thursday. Well its my Friday anyway. I'm off for the next 3 days and I couldn't be more thrilled! I have some fun plans that include...wait for it.... going to the thrift store! Which brings up a question, do you like to go to the thrift store? How about getting withdrawals if you don't get to go for a long time? The weird thing is, I do! I haven't been to the thrift store in MONTHS and its killing me! So I'm finally getting to go and since it's a holiday weekend I'm hoping that I get to catch some GREAT sales! Wish me luck!

What Changed?

This is what I wore Wednesday, April 13th (above) and this is what I'm wearing today (below). Now tell me how that is fair. I wake up to find that this morning we are supposed to get 2-4 inches of snow and we are under a winter weather advisory till 1pm. But it's not Winter anymore! Maybe it should be called a Spring delay or Ooopps Tricked Ya! I even think I heard the birds saying "F* this we're going back south!" And to think I almost painted my toes! Gosh!

Super Savings Sunday - Part 2

Now that we are all out of tax hell, its time to share my super savings from this week. This weekend has been kind of crazy and since i was busy with tax stuff last week, I'm surprised I got all this in. So here is my breakdown:

Vgs (above and below pics): Total: $16.64 Saved: $58.16

* The toaster struedels and 4 bottles of vinegar (not pictured) were actually free. In fact I actually got paid to take them out of the store (the store's mistake..don't judge!).

Rite-Aid & Target (below):

Total: $16.03

Saved: $63.04

There are actually Target items that aren't shown. I forgot to take pictures of them but this is most of it.

Meijer (Below):

Total: $4.84

Saved: $18.11

CVS (Below):

Total: $8.26

Saved: $33.56*

(*This amount is probably more by about $30+ dollars since I had a second order that only came to $.13)

So for the week my complete total spent was $45.77 but since i've already returned some items from Target my new total would be about $43.77 (I used some of the return money to buy my Sunday papers). All in all not a bad week. Let's see what I can do next week!

Super Savings Deals!

I know you all are just waiting to see how I did on my grocery budget this week. Well some bad news...i went over by $1 and some change. Yikes! I blame the donut and the pop I had to have before church on Sunday. Well I will do better this week! Here's the breakdown of how I did.

Store: Vg's (pictured above)

Total: $14.26

Savings of $70.73

Store: Target & Walgreens (Pictured above)

Total: $7.70

Savings: $38.75

Store: Rite-Aid (Pictured above)

Total: $4.08

Savings: $21.50

Store: Aldi (Pictured above)

Total: $11.62

Savings: ?? (I lost the receipt)

So I have a grand total of $45.93 (Including the $8 something I spent at Meijer) which actually means i'm over my budget by $.93 (I think I did the math wrong somewhere). A grand savings total of $130.98!! All in all not too bad and i'm excited to see if I can come under my budget this week!

Spring Trend on a Budget

I don't know about you but there are plenty of spring trends out there that I love but unfortunately can't afford to take part in all of them. So with the help of some creative thinking and some great affordable shoes I've come up with a way to enjoy the spring bright shoe trend without paying the big price...BRIGHT SOCKS! Since the socks and sandal trend is still big then you will look flawless with this budget saver! See how I did it and watch as I use this bright idea (pun intended) in the coming months!

Dizziness is contagious!

I'm not sure about you but for me I'm most happy and confident when A. I'm wearing stripes, B. I'm mixing patterns and C. I'm wearing bright colors. So an outfit like this is just cake for me! It makes me happy and confident! Comfort of course is always key but if you mix in any of those 3 things or all 3 I'm a happy girl! But alas, I know it's not for everyone. And I only know this because people at work (actually one person) told me I kept making them dizzy. I know I have that effect on people but to hear it more than once in a day makes me a little nervous. Either way, at least this woman was satisfied with the results! Fashionably Yours~

Grocery Challenge

So in light of some recent events, mostly me being beyond broke, I have decided to start a little challenge for myself. Its not a clothing challenge like Ms. Kendi has quite often but a grocery challenge!

I've spoken to you all before about the amazing things that coupons can do for you, especially when paired with a sale. So I'm gonna challenge myself to spend only $45 a week on groceries. Now I know you might think that's crazy but sometimes life forces us to come up with crazy ideas.

Understand that I'm not starting with a bare fridge and pantry. I actually have a nice stockpile. So every week after I buy my items I will do a special post about my progress. I can't say that I won't oops, or that my mom won't buy stuff for me (she loves me!) but I can say I'm gonna do my best to watch my pennies so I can use them on other helpful things like bills (or shoes). I'm gonna try this out for a month or so and after that re-evaluate my progress. So feel free to join me and let's change our budgets!
