Speechless

If you know me, you'll be surprised to know that right now i'm Speechless!! Weird I know but very true. Seriously, how much can i complain about how I hate being sick. I still am sick and tired of being sick and tired!! Since I don't have much to say at least I can give you pretty pictures instead.

Working sick

Even though i'm still not 100% better yet I did go to work today. I'm not sure how much my co-workers liked it but I just had to go to work. Besides, I didn't really feel like taking time off since i'm on my "stay-cation" next week. So everyone please cross your fingers, light a candle, & say a prayer that I can get better real quick so I can have a healthy vacation.

So i'm mixing things up. Today I mixed it up on my porch!! I'm not 100% sure if I like it BUT change is good!!

Sick Body = Brain on overdrive

Good Morning Everyone!!

The past couple of days I've been feeling a little under the weather. I've had the sore throat, running nose, dry cough kind of thing. I think its part weather change/part being close to other sick people (Thanks honey!). Even though I've been feeling kind of miserable and last night I really didn't get much sleep something good has come out of all of this. Inspiration! Since i'm resting all weekend at home i'm looking at fall inspiration and even pulling out old magazines for inspiration. My mind has been going into overdrive with ideas for upcoming posts on this blog. I don't know if it's all the down time or the change of seasons but i'm feeling refreshed already. So far I've got an outline of 12 ideas that I will probably break up even further. I'm super excited and I hope you will be too. Even if no one else finds inspiration I already know that I have and I can't wait to share with all of you. After all that's what blogging is all about.

Comfort Chic!

Who says that comfort can't be chic? It wasn't me, that's for sure! I got this shirt at the thrift store recently and what drew me to it was how comfortable it looked. This is the kind of item i'm always drawn too when I thrift. Its not very fashion foward, but its who I am. I of course am ALWAYS drawn to stripes and the deep V in the neck gives it something unexpected. I thought it would transition well from fall all through winter while still keeping me warm and comfortable. The pants are my fashion foward buy. I love the idea of cropped jeans to show off your shoes. And call me crazy but I think these make me look taller!

So since I've had a scratchy throat for a little over a day I plan on laying low this weekend and getting some rest so this doesn't turn into some full on sickness. Please tell me you have something more exciting planned for your weekend...

Ice Cream Thursday

Sorry guys, its another short post today. I have a scratch throat that's in need of some ice cream therapy. Now Vanilla or Mint Chocolate Chip?? Hmmm...

This sweater is absolutely one of my favorite new buys. It was on clearance at H&M and I got a further discount on it because there were some marks on it. Which thankfully with some stain remover came out right away! So now I got a great sweater!

Wednesday night is usually movie night for me and the hubs but since he works tonight I am on my own. Just sitting on the couch to catch up on my DVR recordings.

Single Digit Sizing

I'm am so super proud of myself today (Friday). I got up early so I could go walking like said I would. It was refreshing to get outside and enjoy the fresh morning air. Also, its a big plus to know that I got in most of my workout in this morning.

Also, I recently bought 2 pairs of jeans at the thrift store and both pairs are a size 8!! I'm in single digit jeans again!! I'm so thrilled with myself. And if its a fluke..i don't care! Ignorance is bliss (this time anyway)!

African Safari

This outfit makes me feel very safari chic. I of course wouldn't wear heels to go on an African safari, futhermore I don't really expect to being go to Africa anytime soon. The closest I will probably get to Africa is being married to an African American.

Anyway, I got the inspiration for this outfit from an editorial in a magazine. It was about Khakis and Neutrals. When I saw these pants at the thrift store I knew they had to be mine. Lucky for me they actually fit.

2 Minutes too late...

So tell me, do you ever have those mornings where you wake up late and in order to make it somewhat on time to your destination you have to forego some morning ritual? Well thats what happened to me yesterday. My stupid alarm was set for 6 PM not 6 AM!! Ugh. So I didn't wake up till my husband's alarm went off at 6:45. With only 45 minutes to make it out the door and on my way to work I had to find a way to look presentable. I did skip doing my hair, just a little blow dry and pin up the bangs and I was out. No product. No fancy straighteners. Just good ole air dry. My shower was a must and so was making morning smoothies!! So my hair got neglected. Oh well, hopefull it won't be mad at me for too long. I just hate it when my hair gets upset and doesn't cooperate!

I just recently thrifted these boots and I couldn't wait until winter to wear them. I just had to wear them NOW! Aren't they wonderful? Though I do have to take them in to get a little fixed they are in great condition and I don't know if I could love them more. So are you transitioning into fall quickly or are you dragging behind making the most of your summer?

Too early for layers?

Oh wow!! I am so white..again!! I've been too busy with life to put on my tan. Oh well, no since in worring about it now since fall is right around the corner.

This shirt is from the H&M Garden Collection and it was on clearance for $7!! Thanks to my hubby for buying it for me. Isn't it so gorgeous?! OH and my new shoes...AWESOME!!

Fashion Overload

I've been behind on weardrobe posts what with babysitting my mom and all. I was glad to do it and I volunteered to do it but I didn't expect how stressed I would be with everything going on. The past 2 weeks have been the longest 2 weeks EVER!! So now I'm playing the inevitable task of catch up with my blogging AND my laundry. This weekend is about relaxing and recovering before I head back to the grind on Monday.



The outfits start with the oldest at the top and go to the newest at the bottom. They are from August 13 day & night and then today August 14.

Color Splash!

Ironically this shirt has my favorite color and my husband's favorite color in it. Weird huh? He likes purple and i like yellow. I guess you might think its weird that my husband's favorite color is purple but I don't see anything wrong with it. It's the color of royalty and he is my King!

I got these pants at Target recently with some birthday money of mine. I've never owned jeans with tears in them. Its a first for me. Oh and did she you see the necklace that Beck sent me for my birthday?! Isn't it great! Thanks again sooooooooooooooo much Beck! You rock my world right now!

The day of many emotions

The day was August 5, 2010. I was to come back to work after 2 loooooooonnnnngggg days at the hospital (which is actually where i'm spending most of today too!). A big part of me didn't want to go back to work, I felt better when I was at the hospital. So of course i was feeling upset, tense, and a lot anxious. It was a rough day. It got better as the day went on and I kept hearing good news but nevertheless they don't tell you how rough it will be when a parent is in the hospital. My outfit was supposed to be comfortable and easy. On days like this the last thing you need to worry about is your outfit.

Well folks I have to go now. Duty calls. I am learning how to take care of my mom so when she's gets out of the hospital i can do my job. Have a great weekend folks. I will talk at you all soon enough.

Lite Bright!

So as I am writing this I am in a hospital waiting room waiting for my mother who is having open heart surgery. She's gonna be ok but I will basically be spending most of the day at the hospital today. If my blogging seems sparatic for the next couple weeks its because I will be busy not only with my own life but also with going to the hospital for visits. I also will be taking care of her at home in the weeks and months following.

This is yesterday's outfit. Since I am spending the day at the hospital my outfit for today was not worth documenting. It consists of black yoga pants, black tennis shoes, white tank, white tee, & hat. Easy. Simple. Comfortable.
